Not Done with Scripting Issue #2 Yet

Well, that headline says it all.

I'm working on the script for issue #2 of Baby Is Unstoppable. Of course, it should have been done months and months and months ago, but blah blah blah, excuses, excuses. I was supposed to try to finish it off tonight, but instead I worked on the Helm website. And I was supposed to have finished it off last night, but it turned out that Land of the Lost was on cable... And the night before that, The Hangover was on. And the night before that, I was doing some editing on a book for a friend, and the night before that, my daughters had a sleepover party. And the night before that, blah blah blah, excuses, excuses. I can tell I don't have writer's block, because I'm writing plenty of stuff--I just seem to have Baby Is Unstoppable block. Which is kind of funny.

Anyway, I'm now putting it on my calendar for tomorrow. FINISH ISSUE #2. I've got to get it done soon because Herb Apon, my amazing artist, will be done working on the other project I've got him illustrating on Monday of next week and will be ready for more. So, dang. I'd better get it in gear. Time to unstop the unstoppable baby block.

Karachi? Come in Karachi...

So, all of the hundreds of hits from Pakistan are happening in Karachi. Yes, Karachi, capital of Pakistan, home to 13.2 million people.

I don't know why the people of Karachi are viewing the Baby Is Unstoppable site, how they found out about it, or why they seem to view the pages repeatedly, but I'm eager to find out. So, if any of you people reading this blog have any knowledge about why the Karachians (Karachites? Karachiers?) are visiting, please post a reply here and let me know.

And in the meantime, here's some more about Baby Is Unstoppable. It was originally intended as an iPhone app comic, which is why all of the panels in the preview are iPhone screen dimensions. It is still going to be released as an iPhone app, but there may be some other outlets as well--like print maybe.

BIU is a four issue story arc. Issue #1 is nearly complete, issue #2 is still in scripting. I will keep you posted as we near a release date--and if I find out anything about the people of Karachi and what their interest is in this site.

The Secret Baby Is Unstoppable Site Is Apparently Well Known In Pakistan

So, this comic isn't out yet, and is, in fact, a big secret. Despite the fact that no one knows about this comic or its website yet, I keep getting hundreds of hits on the site. That's weird. Normally, I can't drag people to my websites even when I publicize them relentlessly, so why is the Baby Is Unstoppable site different? What's going on here?

I recently signed up for google analytics to try to figure that out. I don't have very much info yet, but I have noticed that I'm getting a lot of hits from Pakistan. Hmmm.

So anyway, if you're reading this, you've either stumbled across the site or you are from Pakistan. Either way, let me tell you a little bit about Baby Is Unstoppable. It's a science fiction story, set in the approximate present. It deals on a metaphorical level with some of the issues surrounding parenthood and the role babies play in our lives. That doesn't sound too exciting, but rest assured that it also involves deadly aliens, massive gun battles, inexplicable mental powers and major body trauma.

I'm working on BIU with the help of the wonderfully talented Herb Apon, who is doing the pencils, and Todd Herman, who is doing the inks. I am writing the comic and doing the colors. And of course, the whole thing is a project for Character, LLC.

Oh, and in case you are wondering who I am, I am the author of The Helm--a graphic novel with Dark Horse Comics that was recently named one of the top ten Great Graphic Novels for Teens by YALSA (a division of the American Library Association).

So, that's all for now. More later.
